Family Held Hostage As Robbers Take Mother To Withdraw Money From ATM

Police detectives attached to the Ondo State Police Command have arrested the leader of a three-man armed robbery gang who held a mother of four, Folashade Jayeoba, hostage and led her to the bank to withdraw N90, 000.


Folashade was reportedly led to the bank after she complained to the suspects that she had no cash at home.

The Vanguard reports that the leader of the gang, thereafter, asked for the victim’s ATM card and they followed her to the bank while they held her children hostage.

They were able to withdraw the sum of N900, 000 and stole various items from the home of the woman before they were nabbed.

The Ondo State Police Commissioner informed the media that a Toyota Camry car worth N2.5 million, stolen in Akure and sold for N200,000, had been recovered while two suspects, Falade Adesanmi and Gbenga Adewale, had been arrested in connection with the robbery of the car belonging to one Mrs. Akomolafe Abiodun.
