The Pastor and Founder of Mountain of Liberation Miracles Ministries, Prophet (Dr.) Chris Okafor, has given a donation of Three million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N3,500, 000) to a list of sick actors in the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood.
Prophet Okafor made the donation before the end of his church’s Sunday service of January 29, 2017. The dashing and ebullient man of God’s widow’s mite was orchestrated by an NGO, Save Nollywood Actors Foundation.
Save Nollywood Actors Foundation is the brainchild of Nollywood stars Rita Edochie, Chief Ejiro Okurame, Chioma Okoye, Emeka Ojukwu and Torino amongst others. The grand meeting of the Supreme Prophet of the Church was facilitated by a member of the church and actor, King Joe. Ejiro is also of the flock. Some ailing actors present at the church service were Tony Akposere , Theodore Anyanji, Ernest Azusu and Nicholas Pood and Pa James Uche who was represented by his son.
Nollywood stars also spotted at the auditorium include the Chairman Actors Guild of Nigeria, Lagos chapter, Don Pedro Aganbi, Uche Ulendu , Thelma Okhaz , Nancy Gabriel, Arinze Okonkwo, Mazi Ekema, Uche Sam Ayamele , Kelechi Udegbe, Songiti , Sam Sunny, Leo Mezie, Henry Osememde, Akan Achibong and AGN’s BOT Chairman, Ifeanyi Dikeh amongst others. While Don Pedro believes the contribution of Prophet Okafor to the lives of Nigerian actors is timely and important, Chioma Okoye promised a fair disbursement of the money to those it is meant for.
According to Chioma, “This is an extension of the various helps from public spirited Nigerians on the plight of Nollywood actors. The money, she promised would be judiciously given to those it is meant for.
"This is not the first time we would be doing this. Everyone would get an equal share of the money. We also use this opportunity to call on other churches and public spirited Nigerians to come to the aid of the industry’s sick actors.”
