The opposition members of Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber, the House of Senate had a walk out of plenary on Wednesday.
The decision of the Peoples Democratic Party elected Senators was as a result of the defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress of one of its members, Senator Yele Omoguruwa.

The defected lawmaker represents Ondo South Senatorial District.
It was believed that Yele had before the Ondo State governorship election, won by the APC’s candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu, defected to the APC.
The announcement made on the floor of the red chamber was a formality, just to notify his colleagues.
