Twelve lucky creative fashion designers from Nigeria would travel to Germany for the African Fashion and Accessories Exhibition holding in Essen from June 24-29, 2016.
They are not only to be guests at the Exclusive Native’s event, the 12 fashionistas are to showcase and sell their products at three-day outdoor sales exhibition at the city centre, in Essen.
Also apart from participating at the first day of runaway exhibition, they are also going to sharpen their intellect at the one-day workshop and seminar for designers.
Popular Nollywood actors, Doris Simeon, Femi Fadeyi and Lepa Shandy have been appointed as the project’s brand ambassadors.
According to the CEO of Exclusive Native, Sulyman Hakeem, “The 5-day trip is not to see the beauty of Germany but to enable our designers infiltrate the markets of the civilised world and thereby creating worldwide collaborations.
Those going on the trip are going on a business venture. They would have all the opportunities on earth to sell their products, make lifelong connections and make money.”
Sulyman says that his efforts are to build a business group and look for ways to add value in the lives of Nigerian designers.
He said that although the exhibition is an African show, only two Ghanaians would join their Nigerian counterparts in this trip.
“Other countries would be encouraged to join in the next edition. As the saying goes, charity begins at home,” Sulyman said and added, “Preparation for the journey starts on March 10th 2017 with an African Development Bank supported workshop in logos, Nigeria. The workshop is to be repeated on the 10th of April.”
